All Fall Rendezvous participants will be required to review and sign a HeLa Ventures waiver before participating in the event.

Participants attending a Paddle Canada clinic, including an instructor maintenance clinic, will also be required to review and sign the applicable Paddle Canada waiver before participating.

Participants who do not complete the required waiver or waivers will not be permitted to participate in the applicable clinics or event activities.

If Your Selected Clinic Is Full or You Do Not Meet the Requirements

If your selected clinic is full or Paddle Alberta determines that you do not meet its requirements, we will contact you and, where possible, offer you a suitable alternate clinic with available space.

You may choose to:

  1. Accept the alternate clinic and continue with your weekend registration; or
  2. Cancel your registration and receive a refund of the event fees paid directly to Paddle Alberta.

If you accept an alternate clinic or choose to attend the weekend without participating in your original clinic choice, your registration will remain active and no refund will be issued.

Weather, Water and Safety-Related Changes

Paddling activities may be affected by:

  • Weather and water temperatures
  • River levels and water conditions
  • Wildfire, smoke, or air-quality conditions
  • Road or site closures
  • Instructor availability

Paddle Alberta and its clinic leaders may change clinic locations or times, modify planned activities, reassign participants, offer an alternate activity, or cancel a clinic when it cannot be safely delivered.

When a clinic is changed or cancelled, Paddle Alberta will make reasonable efforts to provide a suitable alternate clinic or activity.

A refund will be available when Paddle Alberta cancels a participant’s clinic and cannot offer a suitable alternate that the participant accepts. Participants may choose to:

  1. Continue attending the weekend and receive a refund for any separately identified clinic fee, where applicable; or
  2. Cancel their registration and receive a refund of the event fees paid directly to Paddle Alberta.

Refunds will not normally be provided for minor schedule adjustments, location changes, modified clinic content, or weather-related changes when a reasonable alternate clinic or activity is available.

Refund Conditions

Refunds under this policy may be provided when:

  • A participant does not meet the listed clinic requirements;
  • A clinic has reached capacity;
  • Paddle Alberta cancels a clinic; or
  • Paddle Alberta cannot provide a suitable alternate clinic or activity that the participant accepts.

Refunds will not be provided when a participant is unable to participate because they did not complete a required waiver after being given a reasonable opportunity to do so.

Refunds apply only to amounts paid directly to Paddle Alberta. Any optional contribution made to Zeffy during checkout is separate from the Paddle Alberta registration fees and cannot be refunded by Paddle Alberta.

Paddle Alberta will notify registered participants of significant schedule, location, or clinic changes as soon as reasonably possible.
